L-Tryptophan
L-Tryptophan is a natural amino acid found in many proteins, which is involved in the production of the hormone serotonin and has been shown to help reduce aggression and stress. Tryptophan also creates niacin, which is essential in creating the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin helps to control mood and sleep. It is a hormone that transmits the signals between nerve cells.
It provides a number of health benefits such as promoting better sleep quality, relief from depression and anxiety or increased emotional wellbeing. Since L-Tryptophan is a natural amino acid, it can improve your pet’s behaviour without the concern of organ damage. If your pet is easily stressed, then introducing L-Tryptophan can help overcome a deficiency by maintaining your pet’s serotonin levels, restoring mood as well as overcoming their aggression.
L-Theanine
L-Theanine is an amino acid component of Green Tea and is involved in Dopamine neurotransmitter function. It has been shown to promote a feeling of relaxation without any drowsiness making the perfect calming supplement for dogs and cats ingredient.
L-theanine absorbs easily into the bloodstream, allowing it to quickly get to the brain to take effect. By helping to decrease anxious thoughts, fear and improve a pet’s mood L-theanine can reduce anxiety by increasing the alpha waves in the brain which helps boost focus and establish a sense of calm, which also helps pets sleep and pet’s be more relaxed overall. L-theanine can promote a long-term calming mindset in pets.
GABA
GABA – Gamma – Aminobutyric acid is a chemical made in the brain and is one of the most important neurotransmitters in a pet’s central nervous system. It sends messages through the brain and nervous system and is involved in regulating communication between brain cells. The role of GABA is to inhibit or reduce the activity of the neurons or nerve cells.
Too much activity within the central nervous system, such as that caused by stressful events can lead to anxious behaviour. GABA helps tell the brain to slow down and is responsible for relaxing the nervous system. A deficiency of it may lead to anxiety, fear and phobias.

Passiflora Incarnata is commonly known as passion flower and this extract has long been known for its ability to relax and reduce tension. Biochemical studies show that natural flavonoids are a key active ingredient and that Passiflora strengthens the effectiveness of GABA brain receptors which aids relaxation.

Fireworks season is a stressful time for pets, with sporadic…
Trudi Willis –
Having used Nutraquin + for some years now for my two Collie x Labradors, I thought that this year I would give the Nutracalm supplements a try for the first time. Mostly because in the last couple of years due to our town becoming more populated and fireworks available being more elaborate and LOUD than ever before, I found one of my dogs in particular was becoming much more fretful around fireworks season than he ever was in his early years when it didn’t bother him at all. Sadly but inevitably his raised anxiety tends to have a knock on effect on his sister albeit to a lesser degree. By no means are either of them of the same category of many pets whose owners report their animals tremble, pant and display other more serious signs of distress but even so I thought anything that might take the edge off their anxiety and make them a bit more chilled out would be worth a try. I have not been disappointed. Two capsules in their food, as per the correct dose for their weight, and without doubt I would say that they seem more settled than they were without it. Even without fireworks going off, during any given evening my girl dog will normally get up and wander about, mooch about from one armchair/dog bed to another a few times – being a collie she gets bored easily! – but with the Nutracalm I have noticed even she seems to just find a spot to lie down in and barely moves all evening. This would be pretty standard behaviour for my boy who is much more lazy labrador than curious collie!
Rest assured, I definitely do not in anyway feel that Nutracalm is like a sedative (which it is not and does not advertise as). When its time to go out for their last ‘call of nature’ of the day they are up and wide awake as promptly as normal. Simply put, the Nutracalm do exactly what they promise with no adverse effects and are easily administered (even enjoyed) by both my dogs. In fact I personally find that they smell really delicious and being completely plant based, then for our vegan (human and) furry family they are ideal! (i open the capsules and sprinkle the powder directly onto their food but I am sure they would also take them from my hand directly if offered). Would recommend anyone to try these for a no-side effect, gentle solution to calming your pet in any stressful situation – i am not saying it works for all or in all situations but for me, I am impressed. Thank you Nutravet

I have only just started using this product for my 12 year old rescue cat, who was hiding at the slightest sound and if anyone else approached would be terrified, he has now calm enough to have met my cleaner face to face. He doesn’t immediately go into flight mode when someone comes to the door, it’s amazing.
It really does work to calm him down and relieve his anxiety.

We have a 10 year old fur baby, who gets anxious when we go out. This started when our other fur baby had to cross over the rainbow bridge. We have been giving these calming sprinkles to her since. They are simply the best.
We don’t have to stress when popping out anymore. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our 10 year old tibetan terrier, has always struggled with new places, like going on holiday or vet visits.
One capsule did not show much effect, but two capsules definitely shows a marked improvement.
We have only used a couple of times with two capsules but feel sure this is the way to go.
I would recommend to any owner with dogs anxiety.
